EDWARD (or TED) CALLANAN a son of Daniel Callanan and his wife Margaret Keogh (or McKeogh), Callanan.
TED would have been born in Australia before the Callanan Family came to the Rosstown Gold Fields, of South Westland, New Zealand.
Seven young children came to Rosstown about 1866 with their parents, and TED was one of them. Their Australian origins prior to 1866 were Port Eliot, Adelaide, and the Gold Fields of Victoria. Little is known of TED except a comment by his mother Margaret in an old letter of about 1894, when she comments we havent heard from TED for 10 years! I know this is a long-bow shot, but someone may feel they are a descendant of Ted Callanan. He may even have gone to America!
